Magazine Subscription NETMAGS.COM

I have been off the forums for a few months, I renewed my subscription to Trains with a company called NetMags.com I am still trying to get my money refunded, They promise a low subscription price but they DO NOT DELIVER the magazine. I urge all readers to research ALL subscription offers before sending any money to them, These people are thieves and Kalambach Publishing knows about them. I bought a subscription in June 2006 and they never sent a single issue! If anyone in the Seattle WA area knows any thing about them please post it here

Thanks. Greg

Thanks for the ‘heads up’ on them.

Did you report them to your states Attorney General? It can be a pain in the butt, but sometimes it helps.

What I usually do, is when I write a letter of complaint at the bottom I put

CC: State Attourney General, COnsumer Fraud Division.

You’d be surprised at the results you get…but dont do that with the first letter seeking resolution, but on every follow up letter. Then, if you still dont get results, go ahead and send a copy to the AG with a cover letter explaining the history…

Yes, its a lot of work,[:(!] but it sometimes gets results.[^]

You’ll probably have better luck getting a big ole ‘smoogie’ [kiss] before a refund…These folks are in the class as bottom feeders. 25 buck here, 25 bucks there, it adds up.[soapbox][|(]

I have used netmag for several years - automatic renewal email - and My mags arrive very early. Have you clicked on the HELP field and filed request?

You might also consider contacting the US postal authorities if you cannot get satisfaction. Sometimes they are more inclined to take up this kind of case than the actual criminal authorities.

My friend had a problem with a magazine subscription service. She reported the problem to her bank which investigated the problem for her and refunded her check.

I would not send payment for a subscription renewal to ANYONE other than KALMBACH. I get subscription renewal offers from outside outfits now and then and I simply toss them because I don’t know who I am dealing with or whether or not I can trust them not to rip me off. And…Kalmbach has warned the readership of both Trains and Model Railroader not to deal with anyone but them several times in the past.

Why not subscribe directly with Kalmbach and eliminate any chances of getting ripped-off?

That is why he didn’t go direct. Not such a bargain after all.

I have dealt with Delta Magazines for years and never had a problem. They have great prices - currently offering TRAINS for $27.95 a year. They mainly deal with businesses and libraries, but individuals may order from them also.

Check them out at http://store.deltamagazines.com.

Do not confuse this with netmagazines.com. I have used them to renew both Trains and Model Railroader for the last two years with great results. The rates are a lot lower than anywhere else I found. It does take about 8 to 10 weeks for the paper work to make it thru the system so, if renewing a current subscription, do it 2 to 3 months early. Jay

Yes you are right, NetMags.com are the crooked ones, Also I used another company because unlike many of the people on this forum I’m not made of money, I like a bargain as much as the next guy. I used Netmags and I have been waiting since June 30 2006. Greg
