magazines

Have about the last 20 years of Model Railroader magazines and am moving. Has anybody come up with a good way to get rid of there? Nobody wants to buy them it seems and the only alternative came from a local hobby shop owner who said he would take them and donate them to various places around town (Baltimore) but would not/could not buy them.

Any suggestions for a quick and easy way out?

I don’t think you’ll find anyone who wants to pay for them. I’d find a local club and offer them the whole collection, or take the LHS owner up on his offer. My LHS has a give-away bin of old magazines.

Your local public library might take them. If so, you can probably take a Schedule A tax deduction for the original retail price of the magazines. (Don’t quote me. I’m a rocket scientist, but tax law is beyond my comprehension.)

I would gladly buy them - except for the shipping charges to the end of the world (South Afric) - any idea what the charges would be?

It is almost impossible to find old MR’s in SA!

Glad to send them to the end of the world. I’d prefer giving them TO someone who will appreciate them. Any idea if UPS or FEDEX comes your way? You pay the shipping and they are yours buddy.

Let me check in to it. You can do the same. How’s that sound?

CharlM - Need to know what city you are in to get an idea of cost. Where are you? City and

zip code prefferable as that’s what UPS uses to determine cost.
