Magnets + Powerpack = ??

So,The other day I found some train magnets and was looking for a place to put them. Walking around my layout room I got thinking: my MRC CM20 sits on the layout’s tabletop and is a large metal box. So my question is: would putting a refrigerator magnet or two on my transformer affect (or harm) the electronics inside. I know this seems like a simple question but I just don’t know. With the large price I paid for this transformer I don’t want to risk damaging it. I’m thinking it won’t do anything to it but I’d rather play it safe. Thanks,Jamie

No, the magnets should have no effect at all on the transformer. The metal box is only there to keep you from sticking your finger onto a 110 Volt wire and getting shocked, and to keep dirt out.

I am no electronics expert, but a magnet shoul be okay on you transformer. Now if it was a personal computer or something that uses magnetic tape (casette player, VCR, floppy disk drive) then your in trouble.
