I recently purchased a Magnuson Models Birthplace of the Model Railroader building in N scale. I know Magnuson isn’t around anymore but I couldn’t resist buying it for a whopping 5 bucks. Unfortunately one corner of the front of the building is broken off (aprox. 1/4" x 5/32" wedge). Since this is a single polyester casting is there anyway to repair it? Or would I be better off rotating the building 90 degrees so you can’t see it?
Can you not glue the broken off piece back into place?
The piece wasn’t in the box. I’m going to use it as a warehouse for the oil company I think I will put the long side of the building towards the front edge of the layout and use some of the oil storage tanks as a view block.
You could repair it using scrap plastic. Use epoxy or super glue to cement it to the wall. Then you can file or sand it to shape. You can also scribe the block lines back in.
This is a basic modeling skill you should develop. [tup]
