Hey guys when do the mags tend to hit the news stands? I dont have a subscription ( yet ) and am usualy trying to get them as soon as they get to the store. Any one know the avarage date they are suposed to go on the shelves?

Copies to subscribers usually go out the last week of the month, and newsstand sales are two weeks after that.
There are so few modelers around here that is was getting very difficult to find a copy available anywhere. If they don’t sell, the distributors stop putting them on the newsstand.
Rather than spending a lot of time running around trying to find a copy, a subscription can save you money.
Thanks for the info. I am going to get a subscription soon ( Trying to get it for a christmas present ). Plus I am trying to save up for a wedding which is why I cant do to much right now. I only allow myself so much $$$ Allowance right now till we get a house or bigger place and everything paid for. Which ever comes first, lol. Thanks again,

Try to get everything paid for lol. You will have that much “Room” to swing when it’s time to get that bigger place.
A subscription is the way to go. Im expecting my issue in the mailbox sometime this weekend or there will be torches and rebellion at the gates of Kalmbach LOL.
The savings are significant.
BE SURE that you subscribe DIRECTLY to Kalmbach, Im aware of one or two bogus outfits that are not affiliated with Kalmbach and should not be approached for subscribing to MR or related magazines.
So far this year Model Railroader and Trains have arrived at the shops on:
12/7, 1/4, 2/1, 2/28, 4/5, 5/3, 6/7, 7/6, 8/2, 9/7
averages out to around the 4th of the month I guess, unless a Monday holiday is in there
According to the MR email newsletter the November 06 issue will hit the stands on October 10th.
