Catch those responsible and, for once, make an example out of them with serious consequences.

They obviously have too much time on their hands. Maybe they can be taught to fill it with restoration work and/or a job to earn some money for “donations”.

I hope they catch those two little assholes. They need to be prosecuted and make them pay for the damage they caused. Of, course mommy and daddy will pay and marginalize their destruction and say: “Boys will be boys” and claim the punishment is unfair.

When caught sentence them to hours and hours of scraping paint on the inside of the cars - with the windows shut.

“Catch those responsible and, for once, make an example out of them with serious consequences.”

Don’t you know that might negatively affect their self esteem? After all, they were just expressing themselves.

I for one, would like to express myself with the back of my hand to their face and the toe of my boot to their ass–to them, AND their likely deadbeat parents.

This is sad, such nice equipment

It is easy to say they should do community service. At our museum, we had video, and the teens were caught. The parents had no money, and the court said working on the railcars was too dangerous for “children”. Our damage ran to $20,000. The museums are on their own.

This is the People’s Republic of Portland. Nothing will be done if they are caught. They’ll be given a couple of days community service (if that) and then set free to do it all over again. Forget restitution because they are almost certainly welfare kids living off the state anyway. The ACLU would be up in arms and sue the city if they were forced to actually work and repair their damage.
