Mainline Industry (pics)

Another Industry served by my railroad is The Swakhammer Welding Company. This Fine Scale Miniatures Kit contains over 270 castings, which include the walls around the machine shop. The most challenging part of this structure was to get the stone walls (metal casting) to look like stone. But after practicing on some scrape material (highly recomended) I managed to come up with a color I was happy with. Swakhammer’s Welding Company is, and has always been my favorite structure on the layout.

I hope you guys like it…

How were the coils on the flat car done? They look very authentic to me.

The rest of the work is very well done.

You are awesome!!! I wish I had the money skills to do that kind of modelling. Do you do work for other people?

You really took some time to do that place. The detail is incredible and the weathering and people make come to life.
Incredible job!!!

I would like to see more pics as you finish with your other projects.

James

If this is just one structure you must have an open house and share.
Otherwise saying, can I come over and play?
Wow, its moving man.
Very nice, could you share some techniques?

You’ve every reason to be proud of this, it looks great! What techniques did you use for weathering?
Jarrell

That is some really beautiful work. Come on over and do mine (wish I could do it that well).

It really is nice to see FSM kits made and displayed the way they were intended to be. THanks for sharing.

Great scene. Would love to see more of your whole layout. And if you’re ever in western Missouri, I have a whole box of structures that needs completing.

i can see why this would be your favorite structure , not only does it look great , but it seems to be providing plenty of revenue for the railroad [:D] .

i think you should write an article for MR showing how you build and detail a scene

GREAT JOB BOB!

Hey Bob, is that a Chicken on the roof? As always great job. Quit being a tease and show us a pic or two of the whole layout.
