Maintaining Locos

I have lubed locos and made sure they ran smooth, but I have a more detailed question regarding this subject.

I know that most of the locos produced today have those evil plastic plugs used to make electrical contact on the light board and trucks. I know that many of you solder these wires to the appropriate tabs and I am going to do that.

My question is how do you relube the part of the trucks with wires permanently attached to the decoder/lighboard?

I’d say the best way to do it is to unsolder the wires from the board, and then resolder them when you’re done. It’ll save a lot of hassle with trying to work around connected wires, and it really wouldn’t take much time at all.
