Hello i have 4 varney F7s and run them alot i oil and clean onece a month if they need it or not .i also have some new locos and keep them as clean .i clean my track 1 once every 2 months with 90% achol .is this to much cleaning .or is there something i should do diffrent.i try to run my stuff onece a day.[:D] if i can .my layout is on the 2nd floor with a hardwood floor thanks for any tips frank
Your layout can never be too clean, so it isn’t too much as long as it doesn’t bother you to do it.[:D]
What you’re doing sounds good to me. All the locos I run constantly get serviced once a week. Those that I only use once or twice a week get serviced every month and those in my display case get serviced every time I take them down to run them, which may be once or twice a year. My track needs only a light wipe with a dry cloth once a month.
I clean my locomotives every 90 days unless they see club service then it moves to a “has needed” bases…
ok no it doeas not bother me to keep them clean. jeffre-wimbelly why do you use a dry cloth? do you something on the rails? and is club serivce have more dust &oil then home?or do you want them to run better at club? frank
