Good article, and good website! Thanks alot, there are many helpful hints!
This is what I like about this site. I’m just starting scenery and thinking up things to add, thanks for the article.
I commend your inventiveness. I commend your persistence. But most of all I commend your restraint. To stop at every stage of construction, and document the process in great detail like you’ve done. I have wanted to take digital pics of my layout as I’ve progressed along these last three months, but never seem to be able to stop and get the camera.
Nice mud hole. Very realistic. So much so it reminds me of the African nature shows where the animals are clamouring around a drying up water hole. They look exactly like yours!

Very nice. Thanks for the link on the page to the faux fur grass techniques.
Take as many pictures of your modeling as you can. It is nice to look back and see them. I didn’t take enough pictures when I started the layout and regret it.
I started the website because they kept deleting my pictures on the YahooOn30 Conspiracy. After I did the rockface article and took progression pictures of construction I found that it was really fun. Sharing the articles with modelers on the internet is also very enjoyable.
Thanks everyone for visiting the website

Thank you for posting this. It’s nice to add new tecniques and ideas to ones, scenery making bag of tricks. Rob
A friend of mine wants to put a pond on his new HO layout and is not too sure how to go about it. We were looking at the Woodland Scenics products.
Your pond reminds of the type I see in areas where there’s a lot of clay and dirt (especially in rural Georgia). Also near construction areas and mines.
Very Cool website with good info, regardless of scale.
Thanks!
