Thanks for posting this clip, it really jollied up the morning! Gene Wilder & Richard Pryor’s station scene is probably one of the funniest pieces of comedy film ever made.

And the Silver Streak itself one of the funniest – or most absurd – representations of a passenger train ever to hit the screen, complete with rear-boarding passenger cars and baggage cars outfitted with shelves like a garage or basement workshop.

The real silver streak hit Chicago a few days ago. When the subway train at O’Hare ran off the end of the track onto the escalator.

Ahead of you.

Lot of the film was shot in Calgary, Canadaland, lots of old CPR equipment used, I think they are still using some of that equipment on our so-called passenger service.

I dunno about Calgary, but the restroom was definitely Toronto Union station, and I’m pretty sure most of the other train station scenes were Toronto too.

As with a lot of films, IMDB has a location list for “Silver Streak” which shows various locations, including the sound stage at Fox studios in Culver City.
