The “special tool” includes crowning for water drainage => very prototypical. Nice touch!
Good idea for the tool. Prolly a gadzillion ways to handle doing track in the streets. Also wood ties have been placed longways on top of the regular ties leaving an opening for the flanges, and the middle is filled with pavement. Also why Girder rail for streetcars. Someone makes a true girder rail but its faked you might say, not the Orr girder rail, its not a full rail, its easily bendable, you actually lay it down right on top of the roadway, you might say its more like a grooved sheet than a rail, but it works.
I can only say that I am motivated to try to be this good someday.
