Mandate for a new air horn on all new (in production) diesel locomotives?

Some where I heard that the Federal Railroad Administration or maybe the DOT had made a mandate for a new air horn on all new (in production) diesel locomotives. Does anyone have information on this? Is there a web link I can access to review the ruling? Where can I find documentation on this subject?

Best regards,

I think they were just blowing hot air . . . .

P.S. I should be kicked off the forum for that one.

Hope you are not talking about the interim “Train Horn Rule” and all the nutcases trying to circumvent safety at the crossings…http://www.fra.dot.gov/us/press-releases/57

Thanks for the information, no, I’m not referring to that ruling. This is in reference to a new type of air horn or different sound. Something like a K3L air horn.

Thanks,
