Mantua 2-6-6-2 Articulated Logger Web Site

I while ago there was a discussion about the 2-6-6-2 Mantua Logger. For you guys who own one, here is a link I found with some information:

Wow, there IS a website for everything.

thanks for the site

It will be interesting to see how the Model Power version turns out. I have one of the 90’s Mantua ones, it runs “okay” but I’ve never been able to get it to run as well as I’d like. I’m curious what improvements/changes Model Power will make.

Is it the can motor or open frame version?

Jim

Jim; over the years, Mantua offered three different motors in the 2-6-6-2. First was the open frame, then a Sagami for a very short period, and finally a Mabuchi. The latter two are generally considered “can” motors.

Nice! Where would one find the parts needed to complete the model without scratchbuilding. The water tank on the sides and related items?

I have reserved one of the model power Re-releases (In GN) and I am inpatiently waiting for it to come in. Its been on order for well over a year.

James

Check with Model Power. I needed some Mikado parts a while ago; they had most of what I needed. They said as the ex-Mantua engines are ready for sale, so would the parts. The Pacific is also supposed to be released this year.
Give them a try: tech@modelpower.com
