Mantua products follow up

Can anyone fill me in on who is managing Mantua materials? I have two Mantua Limited Edition B&O 2-8-2 Heavy Mikado’s I purchased several years that need attention. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Model Power, controls Mantua, products, nothing wrong with Mantua, but Model Powerless,is the worst run company, that I have ever experienced. A friend of mine, who lives in Manchester UK, who I have been trying to help out, still does not have his issue’s with them resolved and it has been, like a year, now. Good Luck!!

Cheers, [D]

As Frank said, Model Power is now the owners of the Mantua brand name and products.

A member of our club sent a defective locomotive to Model Power for repair, and after waiting almost a year it was returned to him with a note that they could not, or would not, repair it because they didn’t have parts.

And this was a NEW Model Power / Mantua locomotive, not an older version before Model Power ownership.

He wrote, phoned, and sent several emails but got no response from them.

I would be surprised if Model Power would be able to be of much help. But there are places that specialize in selling spare parts for older models, Yardbird comes to mind, and there are also guys who do such repairs themselves on a commercial basis. What kind of attention are the models in need of?

As was mentioned earlier, depending on the problem, these repairs will probably be better one by a third party. The manufacturer focus is on producing product, not on repairing used ones, particularly if they have discontinued the item. I can’t imagine waiting a year for a fix. Your talking about an hours work by the right person assuming he has the needed parts.
