Map and Data Table for ND Crude Oil Loading Facilities

The latest RBN Energy Blog has information on North Dakota Crude Oil Loading Facilities. At the end of the post there is a PDF with the map that you can download.

Crude Loves Rocking Rail

The file that it says is “attached” (labled “_nd-rail-facilities-jan-29-2013 . pdf”) is apparently corrupt. When the download starts I get an error that the file “does not start with %PDF” which is what tells Adobe Reader that it truely is a PDF file (regardless of the file extension).

If I download the file itself (rather than open it in Adobe Reader) I see that it is some sort of MAC file and there is not much to it. Might work on a MAC computer but won’t work to my Winders PC… I realize the OP probably can’t do anything about it, but this might help others that are confused by the odd error message.

Just use the link to the article. Then click on the map. It will appear enlarged. You can directly download that. Ditto with the table below map.

Assuming 30,000 gallons per tank car, the facilities in the table can load 1,365 cars per day.

I have posted a link to a TV interview Hunter Harrison has given in the last week on this topic, you may find interesting. It is on the “Hunter, . . . so far” thread.
