Need your help please. (My apologies that I may have posted this in the wrong spot before…) We’ll be traveling on the Silver Meteor with two kids (5 and 10), and I’d love to have map on which they can follow our progress. What are our options? Aviation sections? A road atlas?
Many thanks!
What part of the run will you be on? The PDF of the timetable has a map showing the Georgia and Florida portions of the run. If you request the hard copy timetable from Amtrak, there’s a complete system map inside the front cover.
You can also use this to give them an education on how to read a timetable and track your progress against the schedule.
We’re going all the way from New York City to Orlando! Family Togetherness !!! (I may be crazy.)
I agree about the great opportunity to teach them about reading timetables, etc. I’m actually hoping that there’s a map similar to a driving atlas or aviation sectional that we could use. That way they would need to find the railroad tracks, identify landmarks, etc.
Can you print a map from the website ?

In a pinch, we sure could print the map from a website. Good idea. I’m hoping for something with more detail. Thanks for the suggestion!
