MARC commuter train service resumes following Monday collision
This sure looks like more low quality train dispatching as the truck was hit by the train on the adjacent track as it was positioning to center his truck over his authorized track. If the dispatcher clearly informed the M/W truck driver of the approaching train, he would have stayed clear of fowling the adjacent track till it passed. Fowl time can be requested, but the dispatcher who issued the on track authority should have also requested a wait until that train had passed. Only a final investigation will determine the real cause of this operation failure being the truck driver or the dispatcher.
