Just got the March issue. Loved the articles. Steven Otte’s article up front on modeling a cotton field is right on time. Looks like I’m modeling roughly the same region he is and a cotton field is on my to do list (right after I finish the cotton mill I’m building now). Though for the season, I’m trying to model a picked over field in the late fall. Would love to hear more about his Spartanburg sub. That’s an under mentioned region that would be a great city to model with all the railroads that served it (several lines of the Southern, Clinchfield, P&N electrics, and various incarnations of ACL). An a marvelous mix of industries, from the rural peach and pulpwood, to the Texas-like oil and chemical plants around Camp Croft, to heavy manufacturing like Draper. Kansas City has nothing on this area for variety.
