Just got my March MR mag. It was so thin I almost threw it out with the junk mail. After looking thru it I was pleased with the great articles…maybe they just appealed to me… So as that new old saying goes " Don’t judge a book by its thickness" & don’t throw it out with the junk mail!
An interesting take on the situation…and identical to mine! My copy ended up wrapped inside the local junk mail newspaper on delivery and, with its own heavy paper ad wraps, I took it to be the coupon-clipper…until it partially fell open as I carried it to the house and I could see trains! This is by far the earliest MR has arrived in the NY area in at least a decade, perhaps much longer, so I certainly wasn’t looking for it in the mailbox yet.
A quick perusal of the content does suggest it’s a pretty good issue. Will have to see when I actually start reading it tonite.

As long as they (Model Railroader) keeps pumping out all the ‘mini specialty’ modelling magazines - I think MR is going to continue to suffer from lack of substance in the future.
And this is from a loyal (so far) subscriber
This is my first issue from a subscription, and I’m halfway through it. I’ve enjoyed the black river junction series, and liked their river article. So far, I skipped over the whole articles on steam detail though.
