So, what are the pros and cons of going with Marklin for HO?

Pro:

  • very well made toys.
  • Good selection of European prototypes

Con:

  • toy like compromises, like Lionel’s O-27, realism is somewhat lacking
  • Very very few manufacturers of compatible rolling stock
  • EXPENSIVE
  • very limited choice of North American prototypes
  • proprietary system, like Apple vs PC.
