Marks Parts

Hello. I have a Marx 666 engine. I got it from e-bay and am pleased as it didn’t
cost much, didn’t claim to be much, but it does run. I’m in the middle of cleaning
it and have noticed the one flaw… on the 3rd rail pick up shoe the spring is
missing that would hold the shoe down. Does anyone know of a place where
that part could be had or where I could find out anything on the specs for the
spring. I remember it as a fine wire, coiled in maybe a 1/4" diameter. I could
always get back to e-bay and try to find an another engine for parts, which may
not be the worst thing but if I could get this one running it would even be better.
Thanks for the time and thanks for the good information on Marx in the past.

Probably the largest Marx parts retailer I know of is the Robert Grossman Co., 1967 Chelford Ave., Cleveland OH 44143-2533. Then firm’s website is trainpartsformarx.com.

Okay thanks for the info. This is the site I was at before. Is there any way to
see a parts list online or is the $4.00 catalog the only way to peruse what
is available?

The Doctor is in ! If you want to see parts on line, Try Olsen’s Toy Train Parts.
They have a downloadable list for Lionel & AF, Also Marx Parts. The site # is www.olsentoy.com ( I think that is the right one) or check the listings in Classic Toy
Trains. That’s where I found it. If you can learn to fix it your self, it can save a trip to
the repair shop.
