WOW!! Since I did not get one response on electronics/DCC board, or maybe I’m the only one this has ever had this problem, I will post question here.
Just recieved a Proto 2000 Milwaukee Road F7A with mars light. As I was running loco on DC around my layout it was working wonderful and then the mars light just quit. I removed shell and moved the power wire over to the regular power for the other light and confirmed the light works. Does anyone know if this a bad circuit board or is there something else I should try?
Thanks,
Randall
The mars light bulbs have 2 filaments and 3 conductors. Did you check both filaments? If one’s not working that could be the reason the circuit’s not working. You’ll have to get a hold of Walthers to get a replacement for the bulb or board or both.
Thanks Jay, The bulbs are all LED’s in this loco so I think it must have some kind of tiny flasher chip on the board. For now I just moved the power wire over to the other LED power wire connection point and it lights continious with the other light. I’m still waiting a response from Walthers on this issue.

Sorry, my comments were based on the E-7s & 8s that I have, I didn’t realize they changed to LEDs with the F-7. I agree that the flasher circuit has probably failed then. I would give Walthers service department a call, you could wait a long time for an email response. Good Luck.
