Can anyone tell me about Marx track? Did they also have O27? Like Lionel? Or was it all called “O” gauge? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
I know Marx made O34 (O gauge, 34" Diameter curve) track that was similar to Lionel track. Way back in the early days of model railroading some guys like to use the Marx track because it was a broader curve than Lionel O (31" Diameter) or O27 (27" Diameter) curves, so looked a little more realistic. Course this is back when the only alternative was to lay your own track by hand.
Welcome to the forums.
You might find more answers over on the Classic Toy Trains portion of the forums. Many folks here started with Lionel, Marx or American Flyer, but now are mostly into HO and N.
Good luck,
Richard
Hi, Marx did indeed make O27 track. I also used the 34" curves to give a smoother way to get an oval-within-an oval without having to place a straight section in the middle of a 27" curve.
I see quite a lot of O gauge stuff at the shows. If you’re looking for some , you might have luck there.
Have fun, George
