Is there a web site of conversion table of how to create a 2% grade climb. I am trying to rise 4 inches and i need to know how long to make the grade so that a can have sd-45’s and other HO engines pull long trains. Please help. Going Nucking FutZ!!
Sorry, don’t know if there is such a site. If you have a calculator, the formula is S=Ri/Ru
S=Slope (grade)
Ri=Rise (height)
Ru=Run (distance)
Remember, that slope expressed in terms of percentages is a mathematically a hundredth. So, a 2% grade would be .02 on any calculations. In your example, you want a rise of 4", so a 2% grade gives you a 2" rise over 100". So, you’ll need 200" of track (16’ 8"). Later, K
