May be whith this event.......N&W class A and N&W Y6..........

Everybody knows UP is in the way to put back Big Boy 4014 under steam.

A few of us knows that N&W Y6a is back home to Roanoke where she was build in the N&W Roanoke shops; she was moved from the St Louis Railway museum to the Virginian Transportation museum in Roanoke the 9 may 2015 ( this a loan from St Louis museum to Virginian museum for 5 years)

She will be along his sister N&W 611 (under steam), N&W 1218 for a remake of the famous N&W advertissemnt pictures were three locos of each of this class were put toghether.

Anyway it’s a great steam event to see all of three back togheter.

My hope is this event will open some market opportunities for the models companies.

N&W class J, N&W class A and N&W class Y are reproduced in HO and O scale from plastic to brass models.

As an avid Nscaler I hope to see the A and the Y6 to be reproduced in Nscale.

As far as I know N&W class A was never reproduced in Nscale in brass or in plastic.

N&W Y6 b were produced years and years ago in plastic by Rivarossi and ConCor, but these models are far from today Nscale steam standard, class Y was reproduced years ago in brass in a very few quantities and whith an out of reach price.

Many companies produce new run of Big Boy models because she will be back on track in the next 5 or 7 years.

I hope the same for the iconics N&W locomotives and especialy in Nscale.

And for the ones interested…

There is persistant rumors from a few weeks that after the return under steam of N&W 611, Class A 1218, the Mercedes of steam, will may be put back under steam in the next coming years, there is also a rumor to see N&W 2156 Ya back under steam but because of the loan and second of is slow speed running capabilities, 1218 is on the first row, but hopes seems not to be entirely closed.
