Did anybody get MAY trains magazine yet? I just got mine today.
I don’t subscribe.
You should either subscribe or get it at a hobby shop, the mag is really good (most of time).[8D]
Absolutely! It’s a great read! Enjoy! Jim
…Got two automotive mag’s today but no TRAINS. Last month it was very early. This is the way it occurs…One never knows how early or late {within a 2 week bracket}. But I’ve heard it explained why so I am not concerned.
NOT TODAY. I live in WASHINGTON, STATE!
Way the heck over on this cold side of the US.
Of course I will be last again. I usually don’t get mine until The new month starts, of course I don’t want to JINX myself.
Mine might be in my PO box, but I can’t check that until Saturday. This bodes well for it being there then though… Got a 4 hour standby at the fire station - it’ll be good reading.
It seems like this topic comes up every month. I just don’t get it though what is the point? Is it an audit of the US mail service.

Yea I agree. Same goes for the EMD/GE debate.
Nothing against the magazine, I just don’t subscribe to anything.
Train magazines have very good topics. That’s why we subcribe to the magazine.
I’ve had mine for over a week…
LC
Can I borrow it for a few days?
The picture near the back with the engineer with his feet out the window is a classic…just hope his bosses dont suscribe. No doubt some comedian will have it posted on the wall somewhere already.

I think it is just a way for the subscribers to show off the fact that THEY already have the next month’s issue, sort of a “nyah nyah nyah!” in the faces of us news stand customers.
Which is fine. They deserve it.
What surprises me is that here it is almost the last week of April and the Summer edition of Classic Trains hasn’t made it’s way onto the shelves at Barnes & Noble
Usually they have the issue out a good couple weeks before the end of the shelf life of the previous, but not this time. Shame too because (just from my personal tastes now, you anger management candidates) I could use some good train reading, because the May issue was probably the most boring issue I can recall in some time, just wasn’t anything in it that stoked my interest. And coming on the tail of the “Amtrak food” issue, I’m jonsing for a fix.
…Agree, we’re ready for a real interesting issue…
Item: How about TRAINS staff going out and finding some old famous locations that have been abandoned, such as some long ago mountain passes, etc…and work up some good photos for a nice feature of “how it was done first” , etc…Old tunnel locations, all kinds of long ago but now abandoned locations of ROW’s…
