Maybe a system that Amtrak could get to reduce PAN caused wire tear downs

system to be installed on UK’s western route. Has some continental success and Amtrak should look at this system.

I may be wrong, but the catenary doesn’t seem to fail nearly at often in Europe, even with higher traffic density and higher speeds. Why must we reinvent the wheel?

I believe all of Amtrak’s catenary - pantograph entanglements occured where constant-support, variable tension catenary still exists, not where consdant-tension caternary has been installed.
