Just want to put in another good word for MB Klein. Purchased a N-Scale Kato Wartime GS-4 from them and it arrived with some sort of short in it. After talking to the people at Kato USA, they suspected something got knocked loose in shipment, in the tender possibly. (Maybe that why it’s called a “tender” -sorry)
Called MB Klein, and they said “We’ll get one opened up and run it a little to make sure it’s okay and then ship it out today. When you get it, it will have a label in the box to return the defective one.”
Customer service. It’s easy to fill orders, but when a company takes care of a customer after the sale, that tells the whole story. I did not expect to see a replacement until after I shipped the bad one back.
I’m usually the first to complain when I get poor service, so I’m very happy to compliment these good folks.
I agree completely. They have great prices and terrific customer service.
I especially like their feature which finds stuff by road name – although it does have an interesting glitch, because I model the New Haven (NH), it seems to think that “EiseNHower’s House” belongs on my layout!
MB Klien is the online store I go to for everything that I don’t buy from my LHS or order through them (mainly locos and rolling stock). Their prices just can’t be beat (except ebay, I suppose), and great shipping etc. I’ve enver had a problem witrh them.
I had to share my very recent experience with MB Klein (Model Train Stuff). I placed my first order with them for a number of N-scale Walthers structure and Modular kits last Thursday June 11 in the afternoon. All the item were in stock at the time of the order. I received an E-mail order confirmation immediately and on June 13 a confirmation that the order had been shipped on June 12. The order arrived at my house in West Virginia today, June 15 using 2-5 day UPS. Is this good service or what? I really like the real-time inventory that they have. After I placed my order, I went back to their website and their inventory showed that the number of items in stock for each item I had ordered had decreased by the number that I had ordered. And all this at sizable discounts from list price.
They have gottne a lot of my money over the years and when ever I want something they are the first place I look. They even treated my wife extremely well whne she was trying to buy a Proto Heritage Y3 for my birthday and a GS4 for a Christmas gift. She first told the guy she wanted the F unit daylight and asked are you sure he wants that in a diesel? Most guys like it in Steam so he had her ask me a few questions on the sly and she confirmed his original thoughts. You don’t get that kind of service from many places these days
I asked if someone could post a link, and that was done. I checked their website, and I think MB Klien beats a majority of e-bay’s prices by a long shot. To whomever posted the link, thanks a million, I’ll be doing a lot of buying at MBK. R.Staller
