Was this in their street operations or on private right of way?
The operator apparently had some motor vehicle speeding citations on his driving record when hired; but the T’s hiring criteria did not permit consideration of such things. That reportedly is going to change. And, the operator has since been canned; he had a cushy job with a 20 year of service retirement availability, and he blew it.
to Bill Thoms - the derailment took place in a tunnel just west of the underground Kenmore Station, as the train was approaching the tunnel portal. The trolley derailed and its left side crashed against the tunnel wall.
