A friend with a basement filling layout has McAdam (New Brunswick, Canada) as one of his towns, and is looking for someone to make this station for the layout.

He has scale plans of the original, and I have quite a few photos that I’ve taken of it. But there are so many hurdles to overcome that I don’t really have much interest in doing it myself. The stonework is one of the problems, random blocks below the platform roof, squared blocks above. All of the dormers, roof angles, etc. The model would be about 35" long in HO scale, and this is slightly shortened to fit on the layout. He also wants the interior detailed, lighted, and the roof be removable. I’ve built a few structures for his layout in the past, but this is way beyond my interest.

Hi Bob
You are right about how much of an undertaking this would be. I think my modelling skills would need to improve a whole lot before I could do it justice. If you have the photo’s on your computer would it be possible for you to post some of the stonework as I am unable to find any good ones online? It is a magnificent structure and I would like to see more detail. Thanks

Brent

I’ve posted one close up and two general photos in a web album for you:

Hope they help some, will probably discourage you more than anything!
