MDC 50' pullman cars: drilling for roof vents

I have several MDC 50’ pullman passenger car kits that need to have the holes drilled in their roofs for the 6 roof vents. does anyone know what diameter of drill bit to use to drill the holes in the roofs?

Those roof vents appear to be the same as those used on the MDC Harriman-style passenger cars, and I just happen to have an un-built kit, so it was easy to measure them.

They turn out to be .078", which is a 5/64" bit. If you have numbered drill bits, a #48 or 49 would work well too: they’re a little undersize, but if you use solvent-type cement to coat both the circumference of the drilled hole and that of the vent’s mounting stem, you’ll get a nice press fit.
