i was just curious if anyone out there has any old MDC brass harriman coaches. i bought one this month from an indiana hobbyshop called The Train Exchange and it looks and handles well. i do have one question on mine though. the trucks it comes with look like they would be too low to the rails. is it possible on an older MDC harriman coach like what i have? i have a couple extra of the plastic harriman passenger car trucks i could use as substitutes. for $10 i got a great bargain on my coach. if anyone is going near kokomo, indiana, stop by there to The Train Exchange. the owners are Lee and Jim.
Those ‘brass’ ones were made in the 60’s by Suydam & Ken Kidder. PSC, Coach Yard and maybe a few others have imported brass ones since… The MDC plastic ones came out in the late 70’s/early 80’s. eBay has a good listing of them…Big prices…

Brass? In the 1960s I had an MDC coach and combine set based on the Sierra RR. prototypes made of die-cast metal. They were later superseded by the plastic versions.
