MDC passenger cars: anyone build interiors for them?

i was just curious if anyone out there that has the old model die casting 50 foot and 60 foot passenger kits, if they have built interiors for them. i have never seen any article done on that, and was wondering if anyone out there has done so.

Walthers made interior kits (wood and metal parts) for those MDC cars and the Pullman Palace 80’ cars for many many years. I don’t think they make them anymore, but they often turn up at hobby shops and flea markets.

Palace Car Co. makes interior kits for the Harriman cars and the Pullman Palace cars. Wouldn’t be hard to use one for the 50’ Pullman cars…actually a kit with seats for one 80’ Palace car might do two 50’ cars!!

Palace Car Company

I did a 60’ coach a while back, just bought some individual seats and put them in the car and added people. Nothing fancy but it looks OK thru the windows.

I have a MDC/Roundhouse Pullman Palace Obs. In the book “Some Clasic Trains” by Arthur Durbin. In the Northern pacific pages there is a floor plan and photo of a NP obs that looks like the MDC car. i used interior detail parts from Palace Car Company, PSC and Red Cap along with some sheet styrene to build an interior using the floor plan in the “Some Classic Trains” book.

The car is painted gloss Pullman Green with a flat black roof and is named General G.S. Patton
