MDC's EMD model 40 switcher: how many cars can be pulled?

can anyone tell me what was maximum number of freight cars could be pulled by EMD’s model 40 industrial switcher?

Industrial Switchers rarely pulled more than a few cars at a time - or needed to. Your model can pull more than it’s prototype.

I am trying to be realistic in using one of MDC’s EMD Model 40 switcher. i was just curious how many cars would it normally pull

I wonder if 40 means it weighs 40 tons? We use a 35 Ton, 2 axle GE at work.Under the worst conditions it will haul three loads,on level straight track it will take 8 loads. I have used it to move 26 empty covered hoppers. Joe G.
