Hi Everyone:
I am real close now to laying my N Scale, Code 55, ME Track. I am using Atlas Switches with the ME Flex. I was wondering if I could get your expert advice on tips and tricks to laying the track. I have looked all over on the internet and the majority is Atlas Flex & that doesn’t work. Thank you.

Most flex track is the same with some exceptions. Atlas and Peco are more flexible and do not keep their shape like the ME types. That is because the rail is looser in the tie strips.
Putting them down should be about the same.
So what you have to do with the ME flextrack is bend it to the shape you want and then put it down. The rail will slide in the tie strip, but will be tight. You have to work it a little at a time. You can’t make one big bend all at once. Start in the center and work out to the ends. You should have roadbed down or drawn center lines on your layout surface where your track is to be. Just follow them when bending the track.
Rail joiners and electrical feeders are the same as for the other types of track.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for the reply. I have done a lot of research today, so I should have a pretty good Idea. I just thought really if there was any stratagy or tips on how to connect the Atlas Switches with the ME Flex. I have seen some write-ups on filing the underside, but don’t know if that is true.

I’m using Code 55 ME flex with Atlas Code 55 switches and they go together well, no modification needed. Only thing is don’t use the ME rail joiners, they’re too tight. Use the Atlas Code 55 rail joiners.
