Medicine Cups

This may be old news to everyone here, but I discovered a great small container for holding and mixing paint, medicine cups. Cheap, reuseable, and recyclable.

Yup! Lots of uses for “other” things in the hobby world. Never hurts to mention them occcasionally, so new folks don’t have to stumble around to find out for themselves.

Love KFC single serving containers with the red lids, too.

Have fun,

Richard

Arby’s has the small containers for au jus sauce. They also usually pack lemon wedges in small containers (where they keep the other condiments). Other places have dipping suaces in those small rectangular containers with a foil lid. They work well for mixing a little bit of paint or epoxy.

The small plastic cases earplugs come in are great for storing all sorts of things. I have one full of figures, another full of Microtrains coupler parts and another full of details and the list goes on.

Most party supply stores will sell 1 oz and 2 oz dressing cups in bulk. Lids are available too. They cost a couple of cents each. I bought a bunch several years ago, and use them for storing small items and mixing (and storing) paint.

Kitchen o f monastery has all sorts of these things. LION finds lids are suitable for small amounts of paint. Him puts blobs of several colors on the lid and dabbles his brush into each of them as him paints.

They also hold coupler screws and other small but important parts. Untill of course the tail of said LION sweeps them cups and all to the floor, never to be seen again.

Richard,

I got about 80 of those from one of my Son’s, who had three intestines operations and was on home care for about five weeks, great for many use’s. Especially with the measures on the side. [Y]

Take Care! [:D]

I use the little paper cups that McD’s and BK use for Ketchup to mix glues, paints and other things.

Most of the time, the cafeteria at work has the paper cups for ketchup and mustard, but once in a while they’ve got the plastic ones. I try to “liberate” a few when I see them.

I love them for Envirotex. I put a mark on the the side of two cups, so I can measure the hardener and resin into separate cups and then pour them into a larger container for mixing.

Yes, I’m with LION on the lids. I keep a box full of various types here in the workshop. The plastic one are especially useful for working around live rail, since they insulate thnings like tools, spikes, etc from sparking.

My go to container is frequently yougurt cups. I like emptying them[dinner] and the recycled cups are great for mixing paint, holding parts, etc.

this may be a bit TMI, but I have talked the nurse at the DR’s office into giving me a few specimen cups with lids…unused & sealed of course…LOL

Great for storing lots of things around the house

I dont know why they need to be in their original intended use…but the lids are made for stacking
