Hey all! With the recent news about Firecrown’s acquisition of EnterTRAINment Junction, we thought it would be fun to hear your personal memories of the attraction.
Have you taken a trip to see the layout? Do you have a favorite scene? Did you celebrate a special occasion there? We’d love to hear it all in the thread below!
Bryson,
Even though I never got to see it in person, I can’t wait to see it here in Chattanooga and I hope to enjoy it as much as I can.
Jason
I saw it for the first time on December 14th. Wanted to see it before it disappeared (now moving). It was most impressive. I was shocked to see a large river scene where the water was water. Plus seeing G scale mountains, skyscrapers and other large scale scenes is so rare because of the massive space requirements. I like the idea of it serving not just as a museum, but as a place for gatherings like birthday parties, wedding receptions and corporate events. Cincinnati seems to have that idea down better than most cities with the Sign Museum doing much the same thing. As a modeler, I really like how they often cut away the outer skin of the buildings so you can see inside. That’s a great way to add interest to a scene. Hopefully most of it survives the move.
Me and my wife visited in 2015 passing through Ohio. Was saddened to hear it was closing, now can’t wait t for the reopening in the new location.
Welcome to the forums, Barry!
Thank you,
Several years ago, we senior citizens stayed nearby the layout while visiting an attraction in KY. Our short visit at Union Station was WAY too short. This caused me wanting to take a trip SOLELY to visit the layout. Life goes on. The new location will be even closer for me. I sure am anxious to hear of the new location opening. Thanks Firecrown. endmrw011325155
Thank you very much to everyone who had so far shared memories of past visits to EnterTRAINment Junction. We’re hoping to have these recollections documented and shared into a future Trains.com article, and are always looking for more. If you have a fun memory of the attraction, let us know!
