Yes, I know who you are referring to, with your kindergarten mentality, which allows you to make personal attacks and feel good about it. Care to prove it? Because I have documentation that states exactly where I was at the time. My documentation will stand up in a court of law. Will your accusation? I highly doubt it. Thank you for proving once again, your extremely low level of intelligence and another attempt at making all railfans appear terminally stupid.
It’s a crying shame to see a Streetcar lost like that, but at least nobody was seriously injured or killed.
You wonder why you receive all these attack? Well it’s your inane blather in regards to “socialism” your alleged “unconstitutionality” of Amtrak and all this gobbledegook that you spew out. What you say is nothing but crap thus that makes you a target for criticism., Why don’t target police, sheriff and fire departments? Oh, yes the state highway departments i.e. Caltrans, ADOT, and so forth?
I bet the Goose sabotaged the tram car.
Getting back to the subject at hand, the 452 streetcar was brought to Memphis from New Orleans in the mid 90’s. It ran on the Riverfront line when that line first opened in the late 1980’s.

It is unfortunate that the tax and spend liberals can contribute nothing but name calling.

This fire reminds me of one I had on a Yakima streetcar about 30 years ago. A circuit breaker for the air compressor burst into flame and was stopped with a fire extinguisher. I learned that the trolley pole should have been lowered first to kill the power.
The car still runs in tourist service.
Why am I beginning to believe that Mr. Guse is in actuality a 5th grade student who is thrilled with his ability to write, notwithstanding the fact that he yet has a LOT to learn?
This is not for publication but this bantering back and forth between Mr. Guse and others is getting sickening. It takes away from the intent of this forum and once again, I asked that it be policed by the editor to keep things on track so to speak. It is not only Mr. Guse, but is also those who make comments and antagonize him, especially since it appears as if he is taking the comment about burning the car seriously. A good start would be to ban Mr. Guse, but then again, he is only part of the problem. I do not subscribe to read this bullshit. Thanks. (Not for publication)
Glad to hear the line is re-opened. I’m not as big a fan of streetcars as some, but any popular and useful mass-transit option is a win.
FWIW on the other discussion we’re having here: I understand the frustration with certain anti-rail individuals who insist on posting bizarre pseudo-ideological anti-rail rants over and over again, but there’s a difference between responding to someone who’s posting this kind of nonsense, and writing unsolicited unprovoked attacks.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever crossed that line, I’d have to look at the context of what I’ve written here before (which is somewhat difficult) but if I have, and I suspect I have, I apologize.
I would though suggest we all consider taking a step back. It’s easy to get angry with someone who seems to be posting for the sole purpose of causing arguments, and there’s little wrong in responding to something that makes you angry with a logical, factual, and on-topic, if emotionally charged, response. But pre-emptive attacks that aren’t on-topic, aren’t factual, and aren’t even relevant, need to be avoided.
The fact that David Smith of NY asked that his comment not be published, but it was published, seems to indicate that no one is minding the store at Trains News Wire. Whatever you post gets published, and no one reads it first. I have suspected this for a while now.
I agree with Paul Harrison - unprovoked attacks should not be made on anyone here. Even J. Guse. The website rules ask that we not make such personal attacks. Note: “personal” - there’s nothing wrong in attacking the ideas and statements.
On-topic: I’m amazed at how fast this fire spread after it started in the control stand.
