Our julbock is up on the Christmas tree, and our Swedish daughter-in-law (and our slightly Swedish son) will be here in a couple of days. So, God Jul och Merry Christmas!
Rtrain collector, you poor guy, obviously you’ve never had any good fruitcake, if that’s what you feel about it! Fruitcake well-done as it should be is something you shouldn’t pass up!
The problem could be there’s too many amateurs making it that just shouldn’t try!
Aside from that, I agree with everything else you said!
“Live fast, die young, and leave a good-lookin’ corpse!”
And a very Merry Christmas to one and all on this forum! My childhood 2026 and three 027 passenger cars are running on my 3rs layout even as I type, just as they have since 1951. May all of us enjoy our holiday traditions as much as I do.
Firelock76 I have always been told there is just one Fruitcake and it has been sent from family to family for over 500 years now.
No I don’t mind fruit cake if it is done right. But when you get that all dried up fruit cake which someone did and looking for complements on it I tend to leave as a baker I would not claim it. LOL.
Rtraincollector, and everyone else, I don’t know about you but when I was a kid I knew the Christmas/ New Years holidays were over, truly over, when the last of the Christmas cookies and fruitcake disappeared at the first Sunday dinner after the same.
Nothing to look forward to after that but the long, dreary winter.
And thanks all for there good wishes to me for a good trip, we made it to Florida in one piece! Now, we gotta make it back in a few days!
