When I became a member of this forum I had no idea of the wealth of information that would be available for me to read, as well as the good-natured replies I’ve had to many of my own questions. This is truly a great hobby.
In the spirit of the season, I wanted to take some time out to wish everyone who frequents this online forum a happy and joyous Christmas, and an even brighter year to come. Thanks for the comraderie and support. You folks make me proud to call model railroading my favorite hobby!
I have to say that the vast majority of the people that do model railroading are very good people indeed. Always there to lend a helping hang or give a helpful tip. Those that I’ve run into that aren’t I take with a grain of salt. Nothing is ever perfect.
Ditto. I cant wait to start showing off pictures when i start getting things setup. The vast amounts of knowledge in this forum and in this hobby period have only helped encourage my interest in the hobby. Thank you all and Have a Great Holiday season…Oh yeah and dont forget to check out my post about my wifes first drive in the snow (im posting it now)
ya. same here. since joining in late October i’ve learned a lot about what MRR really is. i thought it was just setting up a oval and putting a engine and a boxcar on it and saying i’m a model railroader. i learned a lot about what it really is through these forums. before i never knew you could weather buildings and boxcars. i didn’t even know what rolling stock was before i joined. i thought there was only 2 kinds of railroading. real life stuff and then what i got back in 92 for x-mas when i was 6. i now can safely say i know what N, HO, and O scale are and how to tell the difference between them.
so to all my fellow MRRs, i’d like to wish you a safe and wonderful Christmas. and hope you travels are safe wether by land, rail, ship, or plane. also it will be nice once Christmas has passed to see what everyone got. hopefully i get some good stuff.
I totally agree with Hawks05, I joined here in Oct. too and really discovered the true meaning of model railroading. So, Merry Christmas to all my fellow modelers!!! [:)]
