Received your note…not sure if I can make it to that location tonight…what time do you think you might be there? Can you tell me who your “special guests” might be…or perhaps just a hint?
Got your message…OK, what approximate time do you think you all might be at the spot for planning purposes?
How early could we make it?
Guests have to return to Elk Grove, possibly via Lombard.
I am traveling the metro area with one of my reps today and will likely be finished and able to be at the spot at or around 6:00 pm or so but I can only stay for about an hour to 1.5 hours max. Does that work for you guys?
Haven’t talked with the guest yet today, but we’ll see if we can’t make it work. Once we get out today, we’ll probably be out of touch most of the time. You can check by phone, though.
I will try and be at the spot at around 6 this evening for about an hour or so and hope to see you all there.
If you have contact with Mr. P. Zit, tell him, too, please.
Hi, I arrived at the spot at just about 6:30 and there were two guys there (not you, obviously) and a man and woman in a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth newer sedan (light blue grey in color I think) pulling away. I was in a black Pontiac Grand Prix…was that you? Sorry if I missed you and Nora as it would have been nice meeting you both. The yard was unbelievebly busy tonight with non stop trains until I left at about 7:30 or so. Jim
Yeah, that was us in the light blue Stratus, and Nora was in the dark purple Neon following us. I wanted to stay a little longer, but Pat was getting impatient (and probably hungry), and Nora’s two little dynamos were pretty restless in spite of the action. I’ll get back there again some evening.
Earlier in the evening there was an FRA inspector there, telling us about what he was doing and the jobs that he and other inspectors handle. Very informative.
Sorry we missed each other. The guys I spoke with told me about the FRA inspector…I wish I had been able to speak with him as it would have been interesting. One of the guys I did see and talk with used to be a machinist at the Proviso diesel house although he did not seem to know much about the different types of locomotives, just how to fix them.
