Meteorite Falls in Devinville!

A meteorite fell on my layout today making a hole 5’ wide by 6’ long and 4’ deep! Right in the middle of my staging yard.[alien]

Note to self: “USE AN ASHTRAY YOU DOPE!!!”[#wstupid]

Next addition to the Devinville RR will be ashtrays every five feet around the front of the layout in the layout room.[sigh]

I came up with a simple cure for meteorite holes in the layout. I quit smoking.

Please note repairs have been completed with extreme speed by our well trained construction crew.[oX)]

[#ditto] Cancer can take all the fun out of model railroading! [:(]

Cancer cures smoking.

I assume the local HO Volunteer Fire Department responded right away…lol

I hope that was a scale 5’x6’x4’, not an actual 5’x6’x4’!![:O]

If you gave them up, you’d have more $$$ for buying train related items!

Don Z.

I gave the [censored] things up when they were $20 a carton! (They’re now $65 here in NJ) Thats like buying 2 premium freight cars or 1 delux passenger car A WEEK!!! Can’t imagine doing that!![:O]

Maybe he’s a BIG smoker![:P]

Sounds like that could have been a lot worse! I’ve been known to have the occasional meeting with Sir Walter Raleigh, but we meet out on the porch…

Yes that was scale and not actual. I’m thank full for that, I would hate to have a hole in my trailer that big.

Thinking out loud right now, that may be a fun scene to make somewhere on the layout someday.

That’s nothing. I quit 30+years ago when they were 36 CENTS a pack and you could pick up a carton of 12 on special for around $2.50. I wish that I would have invested the money in Blue Chip Stocks that I used to spend on cancer sticks instead of spending it on lottery tickets.[banghead]. I would probably have a nice little nest egg by now.[sigh]

Blue Flamer.

Tobacco meteors? HAH! Try the occasional Soldering Iron Comet–now I know what those Dinosaurs felt like when that 'big 'un whacked into the sea off the coast of Mazatlan, way back when–[banghead]

I’ve been busy with other things these last couple of days so didn’t read this topic until just now but this is exactly what I thought when I read the poster’s initial entry.

They probably felt like the Big Boys did when they got run over by a diesel.

. . . . . . . . . . and have you ever heard of the Deccan Traps?

Interesting – the cost of ready to run HO freight cars seem to stay level with the cost of a carton of cigarattes.
