Metra locomotives breaking down

Maybe they need more new ones?

A question that needs answering. Is the frantic pace of USA loco building causing parts suppliers not to deliver spare parts to various RRs ? If this is the case then locos sent out either have to cannibalize other units or go out with a higher possibility of failure ? Persons on the inside of various RRs might know ?

What kind of locomotives and what kind of breakdkowns?

Amazing how the picture with the article shows a thoroughly frosted cab car - not a locomotive as we are now in May without snow and ice.

To make it worse it is a CTA car not METRA. ā€œLā€ riders should get a laugh !

Metra riders are not laughing.

They need to get over it, sometime things happen.

Only 3% of all Metra trains arrived late in the month of April.

Nobody in Chicago rides the El, we ride the ā€œLā€.

Maybe they should take care of what they have.

If it is made by man - at some point in time it will break - no matter how well maintained.

I know car companies always put the parts on the new cars before sending parts to the dealerships/repairs hops. This is especially true when there was a defect, and many parts have to be replaced at the same time. I assume locomotive manufactures are te same way.
