And just look how grand is GCT with the crowds, no sweat. Compare with the rathole Pennsylvania Station became with its destruction.
…reduced speed…protect employees…reduce vibration…search and rescue…
A gas main had broken ‘cause of a sinkhole…making conditions which make buildings “go boom,”
Ground vibes, sinkhole maybe the cause?
Rescue workers looking under brick piles they’re searching feet from the sinkhole and the vibrating elevated 4-track structure, if service resumes?..
To say, “start up service, restore with speed restrictions:…”
That’s confidence, and answering duty to the rescuers and psgrs of MetroNorth, but?..rolling the dice?
An engineer rarely does.
My compliments and admiration to the engineer…
If ya’ hav’ ta’, and you do, and, “Great Work,” is your reward…
One of the world’s best…
MNRR is to be commended once again for its ability to implement usable alternatives for their customers within an hour of the explosion and being able to reinstate services between 5 and 6 PM that afternoon. They evidently have contingency plans for a variate of scenarios which can be enacted quickly providing good customer service.
The 3rd rail power extends beyond 125 St Station. If there were resulting structural issues from the blast - would you want to be on a train on the elevated?

I wonder why the southbound (Hudson and Harlem eastbound, New Haven westbound) trains weren’t reversed at 125th Street. Four tracks, easy-in, easy-out, and close to MTA subway service. 125th St. is well away from the 116th St. explosion site. Could the apartments have been cooking ‘meth’?
EVERYONE IN NEW YORK IS NOT A CRIMINAL, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT PURE AND SIMPLE. AS TO REVERSING TRAINS AT 125TH STREET THERE IS NO INTERLOCKING AND IT WOULD TAKE TO LONG SEND TRAINS BACK NORTH,
