Have any of you folks used this for your layout? How do you like it and how’s the quality? Here’s their website: www.miannebenchwork.com
Rivet Counter, welcome to the forum!
I have not personally used Mianne Benchwork, however I have known modelers that do. The pluses are: ease and speed of assembly, flexibility and strength. The downside is that it is more expensive than building your own benchwork, plus you have to order extra modules if you wi***o expand. While I would not choose to use it, if you have the money it seems to be an excellent product.
After reading about the Mianne Benchwork, I looked into it for my layout expansion. It seems to be very good, but when I compared it to the cost of a new miter saw plus lumber to build L-Girder benchwork, the cost was prohibitive for me.
I think the Mianne Benchwork is an excellent product and idea, but the advantage is the reduction in time to construct.
BTW, a new power miter saw with the laser guide is really slick.
It looks like a wonderful way to go, it certainly would save tons of time. When I started assembling my bench work I chose Sievers and have been VERY happy. I think I could have builty my bench work from scratch but I decided I didn’t want to sustain the building pain any longer than necessary. If we ever move, the Sievers bench work will be super easy to tear down and will adapt easily to the next setting and the flexibiltiy is a key for me.
For me it was all about time management.
