If you go to michaels.com starting today, you can print out a 50% off one item coupon, good through 4/10. Pretty good deal if you need EnvirotexLite or some of their other pricey stuff. I’ve tried the Amazing Mold Putty by Alumilite, and like it for making simple molds fast. Gary
Thanks, Gary. That’s all I need - another reason to spend more money! LOL
Seriously, great tip. Hobby Lobby also has 40% off coupons on their website on a recurring basis. Good things to know.
A.C. Moore has a 40% off one item coupon pretty much every week, and a 50% off one item from time to time, too. Since Michaels and A.C. Moore are competitors, they usually accept each other’s coupons, too.
A.C. Moore, at least the one near me, has a few of the pricey Woodland Scenics tree collections. At MSRP, they’re overpriced, but at 40% off they’re not bad. They’ve also got plaster cloth. Most other stuff, like craft paints, glue and balsa wood strips, are already so cheap that I feel silly using a coupon for them.
Hobby Lobby as well has a 40% off coupon that is good any day of the week for a single item(does not include framing). I have used it many times for things like Scenic Cement or Matte Medium.

I bought my airbrush from Michaels a couple years ago using a 50% off coupon. The clerk rang it up at regular price and another cheap item I had picked up, then asked which item I wanted to use the coupon on. When I told her the brush, and it rang up at $75 (I think) she almost fell over. Said that was a lot off for that item. Figured I did pretty good.
Both AC Moore and Michaels run ads in my Sunday paper.
Michaels often has a 40-50% off coupon as does AC Moore. ANd as above they do honor each others coupons.
If there is an extra coupon on their website go for it!
Use it all the time for plaster cloth, matte medium, envirotex etc… I’ve bought $200.00 Ott-Lites, Badger 350 airbrush, air compressor…The Tip of the Week though is use it once for one item! If you take an air compressor and a paintbrush to the checkout guess which one of the items is 50 pct. off!!! [(-D]

Yes. That is a good tip. Select your one item and checkout with it only so you know where the discount goes. Then go back for the other stuff you mighta bought anyway., or wait til the next week’s ad to get teh other items, that’s what I do.
One thing I didn’t see is anyone mention that both AC Moore and Micheal’s honor each others coupons.
I signed up on both sites and get an email several times a month on their sales and just print out the coupons. One of the women in the store told me to print out several of the coupons and go to different stores if you find something you want. I did that and saw the same two women in one AC Moore that I did in another one. They laughed and said you print out your own coupons too.
Use that 50% off coupon to pick up some Matte Medium. It makes a wonderful solution for securing ballast and your landscaping materials.
Some other useful things our stores around here carry are paints of all types, vast assortment of adhesives, strip wood, balsa and bass wood , dremels and accessories, paint thinners, plaster of paris, magnifiers, work bench lights, self healing mats, hobby knives and blades, sculptamold, mold builder, air brushes and accessories, paint markers, dowels, enviro tex…and on and on and on! So, if you are buying scratchbuilding/model making supplies from your local hobby shop at jacked up prices or off the internet, this is a super alternative that can save you big bucks.

At the Hobby Lobbys in my area the customer decides which item will get the discount. In fact they will usually encourage you to use it for a costlier item.
No Hobby Loobys near me. The last one I was in was in NC. We have Michaels, and Jo-Anns. My wife signed up for Jo-Ann sales add, and at one point we had six coupons. Most were 40% and one 50%. I only used two of the coupons, and she used zero. Seems like I can’t find anything I need [:-^].
