Apparently, the STB has rejected the NS/Watco plan to form
the Michigan Central Railroad.
Who objected to the plan, and what were the issues which
caused the STB to turn down this venture?

what I heard is it was several orginazations putting in their 2 cents worth
UTU for tying to break up the unions
Amtrack for wanting to keep the track maintained
Mich gov’t for not wanting to have to foot the bill to maintain the track
