You have the wrong photo for the story.
That picture looks an awful lot like St. Paul Union Station.
It’s nice to see the station work going on in St. Paul, but it’s not Niles, Michigan!
Guys, it IS the Niles depot, and there is a train in the picture.
Not so sure about the location. It has the “look” of the Niles, MI station. However, haven’t seen the depot in a number of years.
I believe the photo error has been resolved.
“PHILIP V NICHOLS from OHIO said:
I thought Norfolk Southern wasn’t going to do any trackwork, and was going to sell this line to the State of Michigan.”
I got that impression from the prior article on this site but seeing track work preparation, ties being layed out, by NS trains lead me to conclude the prior article was indeed misleading.
Probably, Amtrak and/or the state agreed to pay NS to do the trackwork now, while the sale is pending.
Looks like the photo was misplaced. The photo in this article is actually the St. Paul, MN Union Station, which was in an article yesterday!
Funny - the picture looks the same as that of April 4 regarding the Saint Paul station project.
Looks like they put in the wrong picture again…awkward…
The picture sure looks like the St. Paul station from a previously news article!

I believe that you have posted the wrong picture as:
That is definately the Niles, Mi station
