Good Idea.
Good Idea.
Norte Dame in South Bend should do this too as a significant number of their alumni live in the Chicago area as well. I’d imagine it would be fairly popular, I know a few People who travel between South Bend and Chicago on frequent basis and its usually for sporting events.
Saw the coach on #365 Sunday morning. Looks good. Too bad MSU lost.
Great idea. Michigan should duplicate this!!!
As a Northwestern alumnus, let me add it was not “too bad” the Spartans lost. The charter member Wildcats deservedly won. GO CATS!
Trouble is the schedule of CHI-SBN trains doesn’t lend itself to trips like this. There isn’t a Saturday morning train. And most Chicago folks drive to South Bend for games or take the South Shore
Great idea. I hope a lot of other alumni clubs with schools near Amtrak service pick up on this.
Did this for the Chiefs vs Charger couple weeks, Amtrak train left before everyone who rode it down could get back on it to go back to Los Angeles. Good luck.
Go GREEN!!!
(msu’71)
they do this all the time its called to coal train. 10 fans to a hopper is the limit.
Good idea and there should be more service of this type offered around the country.
I remember very well when the Southern Rwy. used to operate Football Specials from Atlanta to Athens, GA on a route from Atlanta north to Lula, GA then from there to Athens on the Athens’ Branch (line). It was both Pullman and coach equipped as I recollect. Of course this was back in the days of steam which added to the spectacle.
THe U-M ought to cover a coach in Maize and Blue over the Thanksgiving weekend and in time for the big game against Ohio State every year!
